1. Session Fees- Your session must be officially booked (paid for and contract signed) in order to lock in any quoted or advertised prices, as prices for services and products may change at any time. Be sure to schedule a consultation as soon as possible.

  2. Contract- Because portrait photography is so custom in nature, I use contracts for every session so that all expectations and obligations are made in writing. Contract terms are not negotiable.

  3. Model Release-My contract includes a model release. This means that images may be used for advertising or portfolio purposes. I will however respect requests to keep photos off of social media, if you wish. Please note that only the custodial parent has the ability to sign a contract/model release on behalf of a minor child.

  4. Copyright- As per Federal Copyright Law, the photographer retains copyright ownership to all images. By commissioning my services, you receive rights for personal use and display of your images with certain limitations.

  5. Artistic Rights- I present to you only the images from your session that fit my professional and artistic standards. These will be presented to you in their fully edited format, and originals/rejected images will not be available.

  6. Editing and retouching- Standard editing and portrait retouching is included (lighting and color correction, skin smoothing, and standard sharpening). Extra-ordinary retouching will require an additional fee to be paid before editing can be completed.

  7. Special Fees- A travel fee is required for locations outside St. Joseph County. If a desired location requires a usage fee, permit, or special permission, this will be the responsibility of the client.

  8. Session fees and retainer- The session fee is considered a non-refundable retainer and required in full to book your session. The retainer is to hold the session date on my calendar and for turning away other business or personal plans. It covers my expertise, planning, time scouting locations, and time spent with you for the session and ordering appointment. The retainer is not refundable in the case of a cancellation by the client, but one reschedule is allowed due to weather or illness. If I have an emergency and need to cancel and you do not wish to reschedule, the retainer will be refunded.

  9. Product Orders and Payment- Images will only be presented to you at your ordering appointment; any additional ordering appointments are subject to a fee. Fees must be paid in full before orders are fulfilled. Product prices are valid for sixty days from the session date. Images will be kept for 6 months before being archived. After such time, an archival fee will be due to reinstate gallery, and all products will be subject to current pricing. After one year from session date, images are not guaranteed to be available for purchase. All orders are final, and may not be adjusted.

  10. Digital Image Files- Digital image files are not included in the session fee, however are available separately for purchase with a print release. Images will only be available for sale in .JPG file format. RAW or original files will not be available. Web/social media digital image files are for online sharing purposes only, and may not be printed, have the watermark removed, or be edited in any way. Prints and products are only guaranteed for quality if ordered through the photographer.

  11. Sales Tax- I am required to collect 7% sales tax on both services and products (physical and digital). Sales tax is additional to any quoted prices for sessions and products.

  12. Payment Forms- Cash, money order, personal check, or credit card are accepted. Check/card payments will be delayed until funds clear my bank account. Non-sufficient funds/returned payments will be subject to an additional fee.
